The PTO would be ideal for an application such as yours with a pump that operates with a belt pulley. You will be able to find the right size pulleys to fit your level of fitness. The design of the PTO allows for just about any operating position that fits the user. I custom built our seat for the recumbent position and have a chain attached between the chair and PTO to keep the chair from pushing back. A custom built seat can easily be made to fit your comfort.

With this type of pedal-powered device, the benefits are much greater than just a water pump. A host of other devices can be built around it. When you’re through with one device, remove the belt and attach it to another device. More information, including price, can be viewed at http://waterbuckpump.com/pedal-powered-pto/

I prefer an upright bike configuration as recumbant position aggravates my back. I am interested in your systems and of course the cost of them.
