Anthony Bennett possibly headed to 76ers?

Another day, another report or rumor surrounding the Sixers. Such is the price of having a crafty GM and tons of unused cap space.

Check out the original article from, here.
The Cleveland Cavaliers and Minnesota Timberwolves have agreed to a deal that will send Kevin Love to Cleveland and land 2014 first overall pick Andrew Wiggins in Minnesota, according to ESPN’s Brian Windhorst.

Windhorst said on air Monday that a ‘handshake’ deal is in place between the teams, but that the two can’t come out and say it publicly yet, as Wiggins can’t be traded until August 23rd.

In the meantime, another team could potentially blow Minnesota away with an offer for Love, but in the absence of other enticing offers, Love will be joining LeBron James in Cleveland once Wiggins can be moved.

Sixers’ Thaddeus Young is also a piece to the puzzle, according to Windhorst, who sees the multi-faceted forward winding up in Minnesota, either as part of a separate deal, or as part of the larger Love deal.

The exact details of what the Sixers would be receiving in such a deal are not known, but Windhorst mentioned Anthony Bennett possibly being re-routed to Philadelphia as part of a Thad Young deal. He also stated that draft picks will be involved.

The details remain up in the air, but it certainly seems like Kevin Love will begin the season as a member of the Cleveland Cavaliers, and that Andrew Wiggins starting off his career in Minnesota. Good luck to him.

As far as the Sixers are concerned, Anthony Bennett, the first overall pick in the 2013 Draft who still has plenty of potential and room to grow, would be a nice return for Young, who has seemingly been on the trade table for a couple straight seasons.

After staying quiet for a large portion of the summer, the time may be coming for Sam Hinkie to make some moves.
