Barry Bridges was able to impress Chelsea as a boy and was signed by their youth academy. He soon made his way up to the senior team and went on to score 20 goals in his first season for the club in 1959 even though Chelsea were having troubled times in the league. He scored 93 goals in all competitions for Chelsea in 8 years.
