Our WaterBoy Windlass Hoist is designed to use with water well buckets. The windlass head is made with a 3/4″ x 20″ metal shaft and flange bearings with grease fittings for long product life and durability. The windlass will hold up to 600′ of 1/4″ rope. It is lightweight, yet more than sufficient and strong enough for use with well buckets. Drawing water with a 24″ wheel is much easier and safer than doing it by hand or with the old-style crank handle.

With the Windlass Hoist, no tripod is needed. The rope can be tied off to the cleat at any time during operation. The extension arm disconnects easily from the frame with two metal pins for easy storage.

The WaterBoy Windlass Hoist kit includes the windlass head, precut and drilled lumber, hardware (including a 2” pulley and cleat) and detailed drawings for you to assemble your windlass hoist. You will only need to buy locally one 8-foot length of 2×4 pine lumber for the extension arm and rope. The hoist can be assembled in a couple of hours with simple tools. After assembly paint or stain your hoist as desired. (Well bucket and rope sold separately)
